A little about me....

Who am I?

I am a visionary, a warrior, a storyteller.

I am a 'little winged one' - becoming a pilot was transformational, truly giving this Métis woman wings. Flying an airplane fills me with awe, inspiration, and courage - every single time.

I am an entrepreneur - founding Kîsik Aerial Survey, the Raven Institute, Iskwew Air, the Indigenous LIFT Collective, elibird aero, and Liberty Lodge.

I am a scholar - holding a Master of Arts in Leadership degree from Royal Roads University and later returning to teach in that same program.

I am a proud to be Métis. My dad is Smokey Fraser, and Ned Fraser is my grandfather. My grandfather was born in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta and raised there in the Métis way: hunting, trapping, fishing, and berry picking. My Métis ancestors were pioneers of the fur trade. Many of the matriarchs in my Métis family line are Cree-speaking. I was born in Hay River, Northwest Territories, and my father was buried there when I was three years old. I am Red River Métis and a Fort Chip Fraser as well as a citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation and the Métis Nation of British Columbia.

I am Kookum or PumPum to my precious granddaughter Waniska and all the other little ones in my life.

I am an award winner - named WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100, Top 25 Women of Influence, YWCA Woman of Distinction, and one of 24 ‘real world heroes’ in the DC Comics Wonder Woman anthology.  In 2023 I received the Indigenous Business Award of Distinction for Lifetime Achievement by the BC Achievement Foundation.

I am sweetgrass - flowing and grounded.

I am finding joy in a cup of fine earl grey tea, in a good book, and in the wilderness amongst the trees with my sweet, smart, sexy husband.
